PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY
Ever since she could remember, Joslyn was instilled with the values of hard work and dedication. Joslyn is a problem solver and solution seeker. Joslyn assists individuals and businesses in confronting and resolving legal matters. Joslyn’s legal practice includes estate planning and administration, business formation and providing ongoing business consulting, and civil litigation. She also serves as municipal court judge for the cities of Independence and Cherryvale. Joslyn is prepared to confidently and reliably guide individuals and local businesses in handling their legal matters.
Joslyn is a 2012 graduate of Washburn University School of Law who served as staff editor for the Washburn Law Journal, externed for the Honorable Steve Leben at the Kansas Court of Appeals, clerked with the Kansas Highway Patrol, and interned at the Washburn Law Civil Litigation Clinic.
Joslyn spent the first three years of her legal career in Wichita handling all phases of civil litigation, including trust litigation, property issues, contract disputes, intellectual property disputes, consumer protection claims, and personal injuries. She then returned to her hometown of Independence, Kansas to join Attorney William J. Kelly in his 40-years established law practice and form Kelly & Kusiak Law Office LLC. Since 2018, Joslyn is the sole business owner of and lawyer at Kelly & Kusiak Law Office.
In June 2018, Joslyn was honored with the Kansas Bar Association Outstanding Young Lawyer Award. In October 2022, Joslyn was the recipient of the Graduate of the Last Decade (GOLD) award by the Washburn Law School Alumni Association. Joslyn presently serves on the Kansas Continuing Legal Education Board as the Chair, the Kansas Supreme Court’s Rural Justice Initiative Committee, and Kansas Bar Association Board of Governors as the KBA Delegate to the American Bar Association.
As a graduate of Independence High School, Joslyn is passionate about the community, spending countless hours volunteering for causes close to her heart that surround children literacy, feline welfare, community beautification and empowerment, and access to justice. Joslyn enjoys lively discussion, entertaining guests, gardening, hiking, and traveling.

A native of Independence, Bill is a well-respected and outstanding member of his community. Bill is a graduate of St. Andrew’s Catholic School, Independence High School, Pittsburg State University, and Washburn University School of Law. During law school Bill worked for the Kansas Revisor of Statutes as a law clerk. Upon law school graduation in 1975, Bill returned to Independence to practice law.
Bill is the founding lawyer of what is now known as Kelly & Kusiak Law Office LLC. For 43 years, Bill provided valuable and practical legal services to the community for various legal issues, including estate planning, probate matters, trust administration, collecting past due debts, real estate transactions, and foreclosures. For over 40 years, Bill served as the Municipal Court Judge for the City of Independence and for over 30 years Bill also served as the Municipal Court Judge for the City of Neodesha.
Bill has served on numerous community boards and committees. It's common to see Bill lending a helping hand or cheering on the Pittsburg State Gorillas. Bill and his wife, Theresa, have five children and several grandchildren.
